He who lived a hundred years has something to teach.
~
As old Rufus laid there on his deathbed, gasping for air, he signaled for his nurse to move him sideways so he could breathe better. After he expressed his thanks, he mumbled to himself, “Nothing comes easy for a dying man.” A hundred years he had lived and nothing so strange as of recently, this was one of the only period of time in his life that he has actually thought of the past and reflected upon his life instead of looking forward to the future.
Was there a future after death itself? The Old Master knew he will soon find out and he wanted to pass down one last lesson to his students who were surrounding him before carrying on his journey of discovery. He signaled for one of his students to his side, whispered a few words into his ear before Rufus smiled a ever lasting smile, he had gone to a new found land.
“Sir’s last lesson,” Maynas said while holding back his tears “was that in his hundred years of living, today will be the final confirmation for him that all of us have but only one life to live. Find a life that you can live up to your fullest potential for a hundred years and that is a life worth living, he was glad that he did not live his life in hiding and gave it all to the world. He realised that in his final moments, this feeling of self-fulfillment was all that he lived for and all that matters was that he knew he had done his best in his life. That was his reward and he wants us to be rewarded too.”
